Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, seat of the Conventual Franciscans in Venice, represents a priceless collection of painting masterpieces by Tiziano, Bellini, Vivarini, Paolo Veneziano, sculptures by Donatello and Sansovino and funerary monuments of important doges and artists of the past.


The nearby Scuola Grande di San Rocco, a famous Venetian institution and a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, with its magnificent interiors, decorated with an extraordinary pictorial cycle, now referred to as Tintoretto's "Sistine Chapel".
